1. STOP MULTI-TASKING
Become a master of one. There’s this entire myth around multi tasking that says you’re more productive doing his and the research shows the complete opposite.
2. TRAIN YOUR MIND TO FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT
Instead of what you don’t want. Most people focus on what they don’t want, on what’s going wrong with their business and life, instead of focusing on what’s great and where they want to go.
3. INCREASE YOUR POSITIVE TO NEGATIVE THINKING RATIO
Most people reading this will say ‘I'm a positive person’But how many thoughts are negative and many thoughts are positive in your day? Research shows we need to think more positively. In fact, Dr Barbara Fredrickson, the genius of the positive psychology movement, coined the term the 3-to-1 ratio. If you want your business or your personal relationships to flourish, you have to generate at least a 3-to-1 ratio of positive thoughts to negative. If you generate less than 3-to-1, your efforts are likely to fail.
4. BE A MASTER OF DISTRACTION ERADICATION
This means saying no to new projects that don’t align with what you’re moving toward and desire. It means saying no to everyone’s agenda or emergencies. It means avoiding aimless activities that cause you to be busy being busy. Be disciplined about setting up a qualification and criteria in your life for what you need to give your attention to.
5. HAVE AN EXCITING VISION AND ACTIVATORS
Activators remind you of your exciting vision and keep you on track to where you’re going in life. But make sure your vision is so big and exciting that it literally gives you goosebumps. This is the absolute best way to protect your mental climate and stay focused.
